The appearance and texture of our skin reflects our age, health and even the state of mind. One out of three people will experience some kind of skin problem during their life time and nearly one gets pimple/ acne at some point.

Factors responsible for acne

  1. It is a common occurrence at puberty because the sebaceous gland becomes hyperactive due to increase in production of sex hormones.
  2. Excess of oil secretion can clog the opening through skin where bacteria can thrive and cause redness and swelling of the spot.
  3. Neglect of cleanliness, a diet rich in fats and constipation are also responsible for acne.

Berberis aquifolium: It is useful where the skin is rough and acne persistent.

Self care for acne

Acne patients should not use greasy cosmetics.
Hot Fomentation should be applied to open the pore and squeeze out the waste matter.
After this rinse the face with cold water. This will clean the pores and prevent the acne.
An eight hours sleep can do wonders in preventing acne as a well rested body has resources to build a strong immune system that helps fight infections resulting in acne lesions to clear up.Factors responsible for acne
